PRPA Talk to raise fund for Qinghai Earthquake Relief

It’s never too late! Reverting the face of Yushu county and Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau Probably not many people had ever heard of the name of the place – Yushu until it was recently hit by the devastating earthquake However, some of you might recall the magnificent scenery of Jiegu township, Yushu county and other villages of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau featured in a RTHK documentary series “Plateau in the Sky”(《青海藍天》) broadcasted in local television last year. The documentary is hosted by a Hong Kong volunteer Ms Ching Shui(清水)who had stationed in Qinghai involving in environmental protection work over the past years. Amidst the post-quake remedy, PRPA has invited Mr Fung Ka Leung(馮家良), director of this documentary series to share with us the research work and the environment issues of the place and their memories about their filming experience, while Ms Ching Shui will share how she got along with local people in the area, enabling us to know more about these small towns and villages at an altitude of above 4,000 metres. Proceeds of this experience sharing session will be donated to World Vision Hong Kong who has been actively helping the needy since the earthquake in Qinghai. World Vision is no strangers to relief effort in China. In particular it has done much work in Qinghai after snowstorm in 1998. During the dinner talk, a representative from World Vision will also update us on their relief team work in Yushu since the earthquake struck the area. Come join us as PRPA will help to raise funds for World Vision Hong Kong to carry out its relief work for the earthquake victims through this event – a sharing session and dinner.
