About the speakers
| Vivien Chan oversees The Link Management Limited’s media and public affairs functions developing media strategy, government and public affairs outreach programme for the senior management team to publicize the Link’s work, build relationship and enhance communications with its key stakeholders. She also serves as the company’s spokesperson.
Ms Chan joined The Link in November 2009 and has over 28 years of experience in media and corporate communications. Prior to joining The Link, she handled communications, public affairs and government relations for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Beijing Office and Hong Kong headquarters. She holds a Master of Art degree in Media Studies from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy from University of Hong Kong. | ||
| Fanny Kwong, as a core member of the Corporate Responsibility team, is responsible for overseeing and managing various corporate investment initiatives in the areas of environment, sports and volunteerism. These initiatives include: Hang Seng – Pearl River Delta Environmental Awards, Hang Seng Athletes Incentive Awards Scheme, Hang Seng Table Tennis Academy, and Yunnan Biogas Project. She also involved and led the employee engagement programmes within the Bank.
Fanny holds a Master of Arts in Communications degree from the California State University, Fullerton in the US and a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration degree in Marketing from the University of British Columbia in Canada. | ||
| James Hong started working as a Marketing Executive in Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong Ltd in 1998 and was promoted to General Manager of Marketing Division in 2009. James, a Sichuan-born Shanghainese migrated to Hong Kong in 1985, and despite all the obstacles he faced, has demonstrated his capability, determination and perseverance by becoming one of the most successful marketers in Hong Kong.
In 2009, James has published his first travel book “1 Man, 2 Feet, 5,000 Years of Adventures”, to encourage travellers to visit developing countries. All revenue was donated to Heifer, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending world hunger by providing animals and training to help impoverished families around the globe become self-reliant. | ||
| Carl Wong, with over twelve years of experience in the industry, leads the Corporate and Technology Practice team to provide corporate communications counsel to clients such as the Council for Sustainable Development, FedEx Express and The Wharf Group/Times Square. He also oversees the agency’s technology business serving ISACA, Kodak, and the award-winning Lenovo account.
Before returning to Ketchum Carl was the agency co-lead at Fleishman-Hillard for Intel’s Asia Pacific PR programme which involved 14 countries in the region. In 2006, he led the ITU Telecom World project in Hong Kong, providing media and event management support. Prior to joining Fleishman-Hillard, Carl spent five years in Ketchum serving technology clients including IBM, Motorola, PSINet (CPCNet), Seagate, Sybase, and others. | ||
| Danny is a Registered Social Worker with more than 19 years’ experience dedicated to the elderly service and has received his Master degree from the City University of Hong Kong. He has a wide range of experience in working with elderly at risk, and has been a team leader of the Support Team for the Elderly. Danny has played a key role in managing the Information Technology team, the Third Age Service for the pre-retired and young old, Public Relations and Fundraising projects and the recently Elder-Friendly Employment Practice Project. | ||
| TAI Lo-wing is a registered social worker. She started her social work career in 2000 and has over 10 years of experience in the elderly field. She has extensive experience in different areas, such as Integrated Home Care Service, Outreach Service, Career and Counseling Service, Residential Service and project management. |
