i-CABLE Communications owns and operates one of the territory’s two near universal telecommunications networks; provides Pay TV service and creates its own contents catering for local tastes. It also offers Broadband internet access, media content and IP Point wholesale services. Since obtaining a Subscription Television Broadcasting License from the HKSAR Government and launching the Pay-TV service in 1993, CABLE TV has set the trend of multi-channel pay-television service for Hong Kong, and becomes the top five media in the territory today. It has also successfully established a leading position and reputation in various programming including its news programmes. With the support of CABLE TV, PRPA was pleased to offer our members a visit to its TV station, enabling public relations professionals to understand more about TV news broadcast. During the visit, attendees were able to see the behind-the-scene operation of CABLE TV, in particular its news section. News Editor Mr Wong Hin Chau (黃慶州先生) hosted the tour and gave our members a briefing on how things work with TV news broadcast and the Dos and Don’ts the next time you send your media releases and press conference invitations!
